Preset auto-detection
This feature allows presets to be automatically adjusted according to the music that is being played. Let's say that you're listening to some Alternative Rock music, by default, Bass Booster will automatically choose the Rock preset, but if you create a custom "Rock" preset, yours will be selected.
But it goes even further ! For example, you could create a "Punk Rock" preset and a "Hard Rock" preset and they would be automatically selected. (Android 2.3.3+)
You can also create a preset specifically for a song, album or artist and it will be auto-detected next time you play a matching song.
Auto-detection requires to use :
- A compatible player
- Locally stored and tagged audio files
Players that support auto-detection :
- The stock player by Google
- Google Play Music
- Player Pro (recommended)
- JetAudio Player
- RealPlayer
- Poweramp
- Rocket Music Player
- NRG Player
- Music Folder Player
- MortPlayer
- TTPod Music Mod
- Meridian
- ³ (Cubed)
- DoubleTwist (enable Last.FM scrobbling in DoubleTwist)
- Winamp (enable Scrobbling and install the Last.FM app)
This list is not complete : other media players may work.
If your player doesn't work, try to enable Last.FM Scrobbling in the settings of your media player. For Winamp and some others players, you have to install Last.FM. If it still doesn't work, drop us a mail !

I've been using it for about 4 months now on my Honor 7X. I use a pair of JBL T110BT. This is the only app that gives good bass globally, not only on Spotify but also on games. Gets 3 stars because the app is kinda unreliable. When it works, it's perfect. Otherwise it keeps closing or not detecting the Spotify "session". Android keeps telling that the app doesn't respond. Also, if I use the bass booster I only hear a pitched noise, so I just rise the bass on the EQ. Other than that, great app.
Been using the app since my Jelly-bean handset. The recent update made it even superior than ever before. Thanks Nathan. But, there's one problem & that is a lack of old-school power button. We have to manually disable every effect to deal with the conflicting music player. Otherwise there becomes a hard/static noise horror story. When using Playerpro+DSP either disable BBP or the built-in equalizer of the app. Same goes for Poweramp, Jetaudio+ as well. At least in my experience these happen.
Needs more EQ bands and the option to add a cutoff to the bass boost for more advanced users. Would love to see tone controls like on Rockbox OS and the EQ from foobar2000! Super advanced audio stuff! Right now, this works pretty well for when I'm not using my iPod, but this at least makes my phone a good contender, as I find it often removes detail or makes thing a little muddy. Also, please look at Haas Surround for the virtualizer and have an option to change the delay & mix, may be better
