Abu Hanifah's real name is an-Nu'man bin Thabit bin Zuwatha. In another history it is called an-Nu'man bin Thabit bin al-Marzaban.1 Imam Abu Hanifah was born in Kufah -one of the major cities in Iraq- in 80 H/ 659 AD, and died in Baghdad in 150 H/ 767 AD
