It sneaks into your phone system & hogs a lot of space (91mg for me), tricks you into thinking you can uninstall it but you can't, doesn't bother to let you know what it's about & deletes your negative review. I have it disabled unless that's a trick too. I stumbled upon this while trying to figure out why my phone was so sluggish. People should be informed & given choices instead of being told what's "good for you" & forced to play along. I don't need this app my phone use is quite simple.
For those who have no idea what this app is even for: This provides apps on the phone with a way to use the camera and sensors to put a 3D object into your camera view. It's called augmented reality, and it's not a new thing, but Google opted to make it easier to do. Making it an app instead of hiding it in the firmware means faster updates. it works well enough, though is limited to a demo for. The world object detection is a bit... blah.
Have been attempting to use the supported AR function on the Replika app — and all I can hear is my camera clicking, attempting, for some reason, but yet never picks anything up, and only states to "move my phone to start", shows me a black screen, and that's it. Not sure if this has to do with my device "functionality", or the Replika app itself but, it sucks, because it doesn't work. Would be nice if it ever did 💯
