"Japan Wi-Fi auto-connect" is an essential app for tourists in Japan. It significantly reduces the time and effort required to connect to public Wi-Fi hotspots at various attractions. It even grants access to typically challenging-to-reach access points, eliminating language barriers and bypassing captive portals. The app collects minimal personal information, ensuring privacy. Give it a try for a hassle-free Wi-Fi experience in Japan. Highly recommended.
It won't connect me to public wifi...authentication fails everytime . I think pocket wifi is more reliable because you pay to rent it.
The main app feature works pretty well. It connects to nearby approved public wifi hotspots without requiring constant registrations via captive portals of different providers. However, it requires constant access to precise location which is very heavy on the battery and is a bit of a privacy concern. If you switch location permission to be only while using the app, it refuses to work at all which is a real shame, as using the app on-demand would be a good compromise.
