I hate the sound personalization and just keep it off, not because it's bad but because it's simply not to my taste. how is this automated process supposed to know what my sound preferences are, I'd prefer an "advanced" mode where i can manually tweak the equalizer Edit: They added an equalizer but it's not very useful because it only has some presets and you can't edit the points yourself
Though there's definitely some issues with the app, (in my instance) it's never been anything causing permanent breakage of the headphones. The EQ config is a welcome addition, it would be extremely nice to have the ability to 'tweak' manually by use of frequency range sliders after the preset EQ has been applied. The bottom line from me; I've used *far worse* audio software, MIY is fairly intuitive, has a moderate amount of features, and generally doesn't cause issues to playback.
No issues whatsoever connecting with my incredible Beyerdynamic Amiron headset, though I did update the firmware first which reportedly improves connection reliability. The ear tuning feature is a fabulous addition, opening up the soundstage to a degree only evident when enabled/disabled in the app. An important note however for those unable to update their headset firmware (via PC)... DON'T try using the supplied USB cable as it's a power cable only! Just don't ask me how I know 🤭
