I live in a service sparse area with no service at my house. It does not start well with no service. It does start, which is a huge improvement over the other apps I use to find service locations. My chief complaint is the app gets one ping off a cell tower and then puts weak markers on the map for 30 seconds afterward when there is actually no service.
Enlightening! Unfortunately where I live, in the Arkansas backwoods the only two options are Cellular modems or Satellite modems for broadband. The cellular, even with a booster, was too slow for anything other than email and slow browsing. The Satellite service is satisfactory for non-highfinition streaming video and decent browsing and single person gaming. The App is simple to use and fairly quick. For me the comparisons were sad, as I was too slow to even fit on the graph.
Works really well, and I like that you can manually have it start tracking you and drive around with it while it gets signal readings every second or so. Plus it's great that the map gets updated with those results within a matter of just a couple of hours. The only problem is that the active mapping feature is kind of buggy. Sometimes when you signal changes from 5G to 4G LTE, the color marker shows orange for 4G, instead of red for 4G LTE. So it has a little trouble during active mapping.
