In addition, each card can be all black or all white. Using one card design, 1,296 different geometric patterns can be created from 4 cards in the 2x2 format (card quartets). With various strategies for merging such or larger groups of cards, an almost unlimited number of images can be created. Like in tessellation, the card groups can be placed next to each other flushed, offset or rotated. There are 15 playing areas available ranging from 2x2 to 20x30 cards.
