With all the pop culture references, it gets easily lost on us that Tarot cards actually contain the Holy Grail (Ace of Cups) of the Western mystery tradition. No where else in the whole world do you find such a treasure trove of archetypal imagery as you do in the Tarot. Its characters and symbols are the animating forces of the human psyche, the reason why Shakespeare called life a 'play'. You should learn some of these symbols... they're the source of automatic attention! Confucius say "signs and symbols rule the world, not words or laws"... REALLY!

The TAROT can be your refuge from the many mind destroying, soul-sucking symbols of modern times. So how does the game work exactly? Glad you asked nerd, each archetype gets an element of fire/water/air/ or earth (consider it the archetype's pronoun mkay so you better remember it). Those elements fight it out and the Trump suit wins.

GET. INTO. THE SPIRIT!! That's right, that's why you learn the Tarot. Combine the four elements and you have the quintessence of SPIRIT! That's lifeforce energy you're feeling buddy. You better believe you're going to feel a lot more of it if you start getting all enlightened/enlivened.
