Q: What MIDI devices are supported?

A: Midi me! is intended for use with keyboard-based digital instruments (digital piano), but should work with any MIDI device that produces MIDI notes (e.g. guitars, MIDI controllers, etc.) and correctly implements MIDI protocol standards.
Experience and performance may vary depending on the MIDI implementation provided by manufacturer.


Q: Can I use Bluetooth to connect this app to my device?

A: Check your MIDI device specifications to find out if your device supports Bluetooth MIDI.
Please note that Bluetooth MIDI is NOT the same as sending/receiving audio over Bluetooth.

Q: What is Duet?

A: The Duet feature enables you to connect to another person over the internet using a blazing fast connection technology. It provides a seamless link between your MIDI devices, enabling you to perform with your partner, or monitor your partner’s playing real-time.
While connected, you can still make use of the various tools and monitoring options, including recording your joint performance.


Q: Must I own the exact same MIDI device as my partner in order to use the Duet feature?

A: No. However, it is recommended for you and your partner to both use a device that produces a similar sound (e.g. piano, organ, guitar) for an enjoyable experience.
Although we strive to support a wide range of MIDI-supported devices, compatibility and experiences may vary due to different or incomplete MIDI protocol implementations provided by the manufacturer of a device.


Q: How do I connect using the Duet feature?

A: A connection can be made by sending an invitation to your partner, using your preferred instant messenger or any other app. Hosting a session should work out-of-the-box on any standard home network through a pairing method.
In exceptional cases where this method fails (due to incompatible network infrastructure), additional configuration may be required (UPnP or port forwarding). UPnP can be activated to skip the pairing exchange and make connecting even easier.


Q: Can I connect to more than one partner?

A: Currently only one partner is supported.


Q: Does Duet work without a MIDI device?

A: Yes. You or your partner can connect without a MIDI device to listen in and hear, monitor or record notes real-time.
