Not what I would have expected from somerhing that's advertised as an "award winning app" unless that award was for the clunkiest app in modern times or has been won beginning of last decade which is roughly the age this app was at its technical peak. Also the advertising of getting a virtual experience around stunning scenery has had me expecting more than just a google maps load and a pin of where I would be on that map. I thought of getting photos of places I passed or some trivia information
Great app when it works! It's a really good concept and the annual subscription is reasonable when you compare it to virtual races (depending on what you're looking for, I guess), but it's so buggy. I feel like I know all the customer support team on a first name basis as I've had to email them so often. I am rapidly losing enthusiasm.
The app is enjoyable and I love how it caters to all different lengths, environment designs, and the concept it great! Especially for charity, that's wonderful! The medals are a beautifully thought out concept too! The downside is, the app can be a little slow and tricky to work out when you first use. Additionally, while this may just be for this race (English Channel), I was hoping to see street view. But again, I assume it's just that race since its water. Other than that, I can't wait to go!
