"SMS Backup & Restore", even though it performs a simple task, is a major project to develop and maintain. Because there are so many devices and so many different apps for texting, it requires constant attention, development, and improvements. in order to keep it moving, there is a symbolic fee for unlocking all the features.
The free version allows you to share 6 messages each time and includes ads. It is a bit more complex but it actually allows the full functionality, especially for shorter conversions. If you upgrade to pro, you can send all the messages in one go.

Converting And Exporting SMS - Formats:
"SMS Backup, Print & Restore" will convert your SMS text messages to PDF, CSV, HTML, or JPG formats, export the conversations to files, and save them to your device storage.

Ok. This is one of the few apps I found, where I could export SMS to be able to print them. The only problem I have with this app is that my SMS were not exported into 1 file, but into two. I would prefer to have everything in one file. Also, the messges are hardly condensed so that the writing is huge and there are very few messages on the paper. I had to print off around 180 pages of A4 paper. It would be better if the size of the font could be reduced so that the exported file isn't so large.
Wow! This app is incredibly easy to understand and follow. Very user-friendly. It really walks you through the process, has TONS of options for how you want the text messages to be outputted in terms of file formatting, font sizes and colors, etc. It is super easy to customize things step by step as you go! Even has tooltips to explain things along the way. Great for printing text conversations that need to be easily presented in court, etc....can't stress enough how impressed I was with this!
It's a solid program for exporting SMS streams to a variety of formats, and so far it has been stable and works well. There are a couple of minor things the developer could improve (the font used for HTML exports is not the same as the font I selected...which is actually more annoying than I expected it would be) or add (such as enabling automatic backups at scheduled intervals), but overall I'm happy with the app.
