How to Play Suipi:
In suipi, a full game is when all players have dealt.
Games may be played with 2 or 4 players.
There are 11 points in every deal, and the goal is to collect as many cards that will translate to points so at the end of the game, the player with the most points wins.
Each player has a turn and the player must play a card to the board. The card played to the board may be played in one of these ways:
Throw away card
You throw away a card from you hand
Fa’amau
Fa’amau = when a player groups cards
Grouping cards are allowed when:
Matching more three or more cards of the same value
Face cards must only be grouped if player has all 4 of the same face cards
Group any numbered cards (ace=1) to create a total value of another card in your hand
Ex: Use a 2 in your hand to faamau to a 7 on the board to total 9. Player must have a 9 in their hand.
Players may add any numbered card from their hand to a faamau
Player may only create one faamau at a time
If a player creates a fa’amau and the opponent did not collect on their next turn, then the opponent may no longer be able to pick up that fa’amau
Collecting cards
Use a card in your hand to match a card on the board
Use a card in your hand to collect a faamau
Use a card as a total value of multiple cards on the board
Ex: 5 & 4 are on the board, player may use a 9 in their hand to collect the 5 + 4.
At the last round of cards, the remaining board cards go to the last person who collected cards
After the game is played, players count their points. Before moving forward to the next deal, the player/team with the most points will subtract the opponents points from their points.
For example, after Player A’s deal, Player A has 6 points and Player B has 5 points. 6 - 5 = 1 point. So going into Player B’s deal, Player A has 1 point and Player B has 0 points.
