When playing Cookie Run: Kingdom, players will have the chance to meet and recruit countless different powerful cookies that will aid you on your journey to build your very own kingdom to defeat the forces of evil and reclaim the wonderful cookie land.
While having individually strong and meta cookies will help players have an easy time when playing Cookie Run Kingdom, it can’t be understated how important it is for players to think and create good and synergistic team for every cookies in order to be able to clear harder contents in the game, which requires a powerful team of cookies to work together to clear.
In this guide, we will go over everything players need to know regarding team building in Cookie Run: Kingdom and show players some of the most powerful teams they should aim to make while playing the game in order to be able to challenge hard end game contents in the easiest way possible.
A team in Cookie Run Kingdom consists of a total of 5 different cookies in the same team, each with their own roles and positions that compliments and support each other in order for players to be able to have a balanced and good team.
In every battle, the team composition of the different cookies on the battlefield is divided into 3 different zones, each with their own unique things that players need to pay attention to.
The 3 zones the battlefield is divided into includes The Front Row, The Middle, And The Rear. Each row on the battlefield allows the players to deploy up to 2 different cookies, with a maximum of 5 cookies being to be deployed at the same time, meaning at the absolute max, you can have 2 cookies on 2 rows and 1 cookie in 1 row, depending on your team composition and positioning.
The Front Row can mainly be used by melee cookies that focus on either tanking or dealing melee damage to enemies. This row will be at the forefront of the enemies’ damage and will take the brunt of all enemies’ attacks. Tank cookies can be deployed here to absorb the majority of the damage from enemies, while melee cookies can only be deployed here to be allowed to deal melee damage to enemies when up close.
The Middle can be used by most of the ranged and support cookies in the game, with the zone being one of the safest zones in the battlefield. The middle zone is mostly used by many ranged and support units that have the ability to either heal, buff allies or deal damage to enemies from afar. This zone is the most safe zone out of the 3 zones as enemies need to get through Cookies on the Front Row to damage The Middle, while enemies with the ability to hit the Rear need to defeat all cookies in the Rear first.
The Rear is the last zone on the battlefield and is mostly used for Tanky Support Cookies that have the ability to either heal or buff allies’ defensive abilities and have high enough survivability while being able to support the entire team.
After advancing in the story and clearing specific stages, players will be able to have access to the special Treasure system and Treasure gacha, allowing you to equip special treasure at the start of the fight in order to grant the entire team special powerful buffs. Treasures can be obtained from the treasure gacha or through the various events and battle stages.
Up to 3 treasures can be equipped onto the treasure slots at the start of the fight and throughout the entire battle, treasures will provide passive buffs to all the cookies that benefit from each individual treasure’s effect.
In addition to the passive effects of treasures, certain special Cookies can also provide the entire team with beneficial passive effects when they are enhanced up to a certain point, allowing you to unlock their Cookie Leader Skills. These special cookie leader skills will affect certain cookies in the team while the cookie with the leader skill is still alive on the battlefield, providing important stat buffs for certain team compositions.
Due to the unique nature of the battlefield being divided into different sections and cookies can only be deployed on certain specific sections on the battlefield, a team comp in Cookie Run Kingdom can be quite diverse with different team comps reliant on different positioning of the cookies based on the different roles they play on the the battlefield.
For Example:
- For a balanced team comp, a 2-1-2 position is highly recommended with 2 cookies at the front row, 1 cookie in the middle and 2 cookies at the rear, with ideally a melee attacking cookie, a tank cookie, 1 ranged attacking cookie and 2 supporting cookies at the back. This team comp allows for diversity and a well balanced overall composition, useful to normal challenges like PvE and exploration in the game.
- For a more offensive team comp, a 1-2-2 team composition is recommended, with 1 melee damage cookie, 2 ranged attacking cookies and 2 support cookies. This team comp leans more towards offensive capabilities for PvP offense contents, with the overall damage of the team reliant on the melee attack cookie and the 2 ranged attacking cookies and the bulk of the defensive ability coming from the 2 support cookies being able to buff the team and and provide the team with powerful heals and defensive buffs.
- For a more defensive team composition for arena defenses and other harder contents that deals big damage to your team, a 2-2-1 composition is highly recommended, with 2 tank cookies at the front (can be replaced with 1 tank and 1 melee attack cookie), 1 range attack cookie and 1 support cookie in the middle and 1 support cookie in the rear. This is to allow the team to support and protect the middle important cookies that will deal damage and support the team enough to keep the entire team alive to get through the important fights.
Below are some of the most interesting and best team compositions involving the most meta cookies in the game, for players who want to replicate these team comps but don’t have these cookies, you can substitute the cookies with lower rarity cookies that functions the same way for similar effects depending on the team comps:
- A Balanced Meta Team:
Formation: 2-1-2
Front Row: Burning Spice Cookie (Melee Attack Cookie), Dark Cacao Cookie (Tank)
Middle: Golden Cheese Cookie (Ranged Attack Cookie)
Rear: Pure Vanilla Cookie (Healing), Mystic Flour Cookie (Healing)
This team formation relies heavily on Dark Cacao Cookie tanking the damage while Burning Spice Cookie and Golden Cheese Cookie obliterate the enemies with their high attacks. Pure Vanilla Cookie and Mystic Flour Cookie are used to keep the entire team alive for as long as possible with their powerful buffs.
- An Offensive Meta Team:
Formation: 1-2-2
Front Row: Burning Spice Cookie (Melee Attack Cookie)
Middle: Golden Cheese Cookie (Ranged Attack Cookie),Pure Vanilla Cookie (Healing)
Rear:Wind Archer Cookie (Ranged Attack Cookie), Mystic Flour Cookie (Healing)
This team formation is a very offensive oriented team composition as the only one to tank the enemies’ on coming damage is Burning Spice Cookie with buffs and heals from both Mystic Flour Cookie and Pure Vanilla Cookie. However, this team comp will deal massive amounts of damage thanks to the combined damaging effort from Golden Cheese Cookie, Wind Archer Cookie and Burning Spice Cookie, allowing this team to quickly destroy the enemy’s formation before the team itself is destroyed.
- A Defensive Meta Team:
Formation: 2-2-1
Front Row: Burning Spice Cookie (Melee Attack Cookie), Dark Cacao Cookie (Tank)
Middle: Golden Cheese Cookie (Ranged Attack Cookie), Black Sapphire Cookie (Support)
Rear: Mystic Flour Cookie (Healing)
This team is more defensive in nature with 2 front cookies to tank damage from the enemies’ attacks, 1 support and 1 ranged cookie to help boost the team overall damage output capability and a defensive strong healing support at the rear, providing allies with powerful heals and buffs from a safe spot.
